 Stay One Step Ahead

The Audio-Visual Industry has evolved since its beginning with the development of new technologies and new business models. The changes over the last 20 years have been profound. From the early 1970s when AV products such as film projectors, microphones and other technologies were sold through catalogues; to the computer revolution of the 80s that led to an increase in the software market and the introduction of the first electronic data projection systems. The 1990s saw the boom of the presentation market as large and small electronic projectors became the tool of corporate and higher education presentations. The 90s also saw installations becoming more systems-orientated with control systems, connections to networks, interactive technologies, and other products being integrated into highly automated presentation rooms.
The New Millennium observed Internet and IP networks begin playing a large role in the technology base of the industry with traditional analogue systems being replaced with digital systems running over IP networks. With over 80 percent of AV products based on IT networks or capable of working on them, the long -foretold AV/IT convergence became a reality and is one of the major drivers of demand for AV products today.
Since its establishment in 1995, Smartcomm Ltd, a UK based specialist Audio-Visual, Communications & Controls Integration Company has been utilizing these ever evolving technologies and seamlessly integrating them into a wide range of environments including corporate, retail, hotel, leisure and residential developments. With specialist designers, installers and programmers, all with over 12 years of industry experience Smartcomm has been delivering state-of-the-art Audio Visual solutions to high profile clients such as The John Lewis Partnership.
